Ernso Cléus, Haitian real estate broker in Montreal — RE/MAX Crystal

Born in Haiti, licensed real estate broker in Quebec

Ernso Cléus was born in Cazale, Haiti, and arrived in Montreal in 1989, at age 11. He grew up in Parc-Extension and then Rivière-des-Prairies, and has lived in Terrebonne since 2018 — the path so many Haitian families of Montreal take, he took it himself. This is where he built his entire professional life: a bachelor’s degree in marketing and management from UQAM, an entrepreneur since 2003, a diploma in building inspection technology (2019), and then both the residential and commercial brokerage licences issued by the OACIQ. Now a broker with RE/MAX Crystal in Saint-Eustache, he puts that knowledge of buildings to work in a go-to-market approach that starts with the facts — a pre-listing verification by an independent building inspector, and a price grounded in the actual sales of your area.

For the Haitian community, that means one simple thing: a broker who understands your reality, your family and your language — with the licences and the method to carry the transaction all the way to the notary.

A transaction explained in your language

In Quebec, the official documents of a transaction — the brokerage contract, the promise to purchase, the Seller’s Declaration — exist in French and in English. But a real estate transaction is decided in the details: what you sign, what you declare, what you negotiate. Every clause can be explained to you in Haitian Creole, before you sign, so the decision is made with full understanding — for you and for the family members who are part of the decision.

And if part of the family lives abroad — in the United States, in Haiti or elsewhere — the transaction can be handled remotely: video meetings and supervised electronic signatures, in the language of your choice.

Where the community lives, we are there

Montreal — the Haitian community is at home in Montréal-Nord, Rivière-des-Prairies — where Ernso grew up —, Saint-Michel and Ahuntsic: neighbourhoods of duplexes, triplexes and family homes where property values have changed considerably — and where many owners don’t know what their building is really worth today.

Laval — Vimont and Auteuil, Chomedey: the natural next step for families leaving Montreal for more space without moving away from their own.

The North Shore — more and more Haitian families are choosing Terrebonne, Repentigny and Blainville: newer homes, family neighbourhoods, more space for the money. Ernso made that move himself — he has lived in Terrebonne since 2018 — and it is precisely our office’s home territory — including Mascouche, Saint-Eustache and the whole northern ring.

Selling in Montréal-Nord to buy in Terrebonne? Both transactions are coordinated together — same broker, same file, same language.

That’s the word everyone uses — but in Quebec, the legal title is real estate broker: it is the licence issued by the OACIQ, with the oversight and protections that come with it. Ernso Cléus is a residential and commercial real estate broker. The full difference is explained on the real estate agent page.
